Privacy policy
ACADÉMIE DE FINANCE CANADIENNE INC. (Quebec enterprise number 1180907694), doing business as Canadian Finance Academy ("we", "our", or "the Company"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you access our website and our related services.
Last updated: July 29, 2026
1. Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Personal identification information: name, email address, and phone number when you complete a form or request a consultation.
- Campaign information: the page you arrived on, the referring website, and the advertising parameters present in the link you followed, used to understand which campaigns lead to consultations.
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and session duration. Beyond what is strictly necessary to run the site, this is collected only after you allow analytics cookies.
- Communications: emails, messages, or other correspondence you send to us.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to consultation requests and deliver our services.
- Send relevant communications, updates, and educational resources, with your consent.
- Improve our website and service offerings.
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
- Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized activity.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate our business, bound by confidentiality obligations. They currently include GoHighLevel (appointments and contact management), Vercel (website hosting), Sanity (content), Google (Tag Manager and Analytics, measurement of site use, only with your consent), Microsoft Clarity (site usage analysis, only with your consent), Meta (advertising measurement, only with your consent), and Voomly and YouTube (video playback, only with your consent).
- Booking calendar: the calendar is provided by GoHighLevel and is loaded on the booking page without waiting for a cookie choice, because it is the service you came for. Its widget also loads a Meta (Facebook) script, which receives your IP address, browser type, and the address of the page. If you prefer to avoid this, you can book by email or phone instead, using the contact details below.
- Processing outside Quebec: these providers process information outside Quebec and, in most cases, outside Canada, under their own contractual and security commitments.
- Legal obligations: when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred with prior notice.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Only the storage strictly necessary to run the site is active by default: it remembers the details you enter before booking, for the duration of your visit, and remembers your privacy choice.
Everything else — site usage analysis and embedded video — stays off until you allow it. The booking calendar is the exception: it loads on the booking page without waiting, because it is the service being requested, and it is described in the privacy policy. You can accept or decline at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer, and withdrawing is as immediate as accepting. Declining does not prevent you from using the site, though embedded content will not display.
Our cookie policy lists each provider and what it stores.
5. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Contact details you enter before booking stay in your browser for the duration of your visit and are not placed in the page address. However, no data transmission over the internet is entirely secure.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
7. Your rights (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25)
Under applicable Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent to processing, subject to legal restrictions.
- Request deletion of your information where applicable.
- File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Third-party links
Our website contains links to third-party websites, including the tax calculators offered in the navigation. Those tools run on their own websites: anything you enter there is handled under their policies, not this one, and never passes through this site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their respective policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
